Эмоции по-английски

Как мы обычно реагируем, если нам наступили на ногу? Или толкнули в общественном транспорте? Или если мы сами оступились? Ну, конечно, если мы люди цивилизованные, то максимум, что можно от нас услышать, это… междометия. Междометия — это слова, которые непосредственно выражают наши чувства, переживания и волеизъявления, не называя их. Например, на русском вы воскликнете «ах!» или «ой!».

А что делать среди иностранцев? Сказать по-русски, не поймут, а то и обидятся! Значит, пора научиться выражать свои эмоции по-английски.  

 

Смущение (embarrassment)

aw shucks [а: шакс]

Aw, shucks, I thought, before reading that the school’s No. 1 choice was actor Arnold Schwarzenegger but he was unavailable.

d’oh [д’эу]

Недоверие, сомнение (distrust, doubt)

hm [м]

«Hm!» said the Scarecrow, thoughtfully. «If it is such hard work as you say, how did the women manage it so easily?»

humph [хамф]

At length he said «Humph!» and gave the letters back to her.

phooey [ф’у:и]

What fun, what a mess, and phooey, what wine.

Недовольство, неодобрение (discontent, grievance)

duh [да]

Well, duh! That was a stupid thing to do!

humph [хамф]

There are kids on my lawn again, humph!

pah [па:]

tsk tsk [ц ц]

Tsk-tsk, he is late for work again

tut [тат]

Несогласие (disagreement)

Облегчение  (relief)

‘Whew ! Thank god. I’ll go find the game …’

 

Восхищение (admiration)

“My son got a full scholarship to Harvard!” “Wow – good for him! What’s he going to study?”

Разочарование (disappointment), раздражение (annoyance)

Argh! Itʼs already 7:15! Weʼre never gonna make it!

Oh! I don’t know what to do about this mess.

shoot [шу:т]

Didn’t you have a concert tonight? — Shoot! I forgot! I have to go and get ready…

Радость (joy)
